The U.S. wind energy industry installed a record 2,750MW of generating capacity in 2006, which is equal to enough power for the entire state of Rhode Island.

Barnhart contributed it's part by construction 522MW, including the 230MW Wild Horse wind farm located in Ellesburg, WA. Barnhart erected 127 Vestas 1.8MW V80 wind turbines in mountainous terrain. Barnhart utilized the single-blade installation method, reducing the size of the required ground assembly area.

An agressive Quality Assurance Program allowed Barnhart's team to execute the project with virtually no errors. Doing things right the first time allowed Barnhart to finish ahead of schedule despite extremely high wind conditions and a challenging terrain and environment.
